VICTORIA C. WACEK
MEMORIAL NFP
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
2022 Scholar - April Moralla

In 2022, the Victoria C. Wacek Memorial NFP selected April Moralla as its newest scholarship recipient. Among all the scholarship applicants, the VCW Memorial was impressed with April's determination to succeed and her strong relationship with her parents. April has successfully completed her 1st year at Misamis University, where she is pursuing a degree in Nursing, and we are very excited to support her on her journey.

A message from April - July 2022:

A blessed day to everyone! I would like to say thank you to our Almighty God for giving me the opportunity to express my warmest gratitude to all the sponsors of Victoria C. Wacek Scholarship. Education is a great wealth that cannot be lent or borrowed from anyone. It is only way we can acquire more knowledge and have a stable job in the future. As I had seen the situation that we have in our family, it came up in my mind that education is the only solution that I see to change our life for the better. It is the only key to achieve my goals in life. Poverty is the reason why it's hard for me to continue my study in college. But despite of all my struggles in life, I strongly believe that God has many ways to help those people who are really in need. And having this generous people whose truly willing to help and support me on reaching my dreams is one of God's greatest way on answering my prayers.

My name is April Joy Moralla, 18 years old, has the greatest courage and well determined to take the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Misamis University. It is an honor for me to be a recipient of the Victoria Celemin Wacek Scholarship. There is no exact words how grateful I am and with my family to this great opportunity that your foundation has given me. Through this, I am more confident and persistent enough to reach my dreams.

As of now, I will make this an inspiration for me to succeed so I will be able to help those students like me who are unable to study in college. And I promise to do my very best on everything. May God bless those people who has the kindest heart for sharing their blessings through this scholarship. Thank you very much and take care always.

Respectfully yours,
April Joy Moralla
2021 Scholar - Issa Aoalin

Although there were many qualified applicants in the 2021 graduating class, Issa impressed us with his strong academic record, mature composure, diverse interests (music, writing, art, sports) and glowing recommendations from St. Matthew's teachers. Issa has now completed his first 2 years at Misamis University. Inspired by the frontline workers who have dedicated themselves toward the global fight against Covid-19, Issa has chosen to pursue a degree in Medical Technology. He continues to be the diligent and resourceful student that he was during high school, utilizing his mobile phone and borrowed laptop to participate actively in synchronous class sessions and to complete his assignments on time.

A message from Issa - April 2021:

"Each man should give what he has described in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. " - 2 Corinthians 9:7

Greetings! I hope all is well. It is with pride and joy that I offer my heartiest appreciation for giving me an opportunity to attain my educational and career goals. To pursue a higher education is one of my humble dreams, and being selected as one of the Victoria C. Wacek Memorial Scholarship recipients is a great deal to make that dream come true.

I, on behalf of my family, would like to express our gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for the support that all of you have given, for indeed this scholarship really helped us to lessen our burdens in terms of financial support, which allows me to focus more on my studies rather than my college expenses.

As for it, I promise to do my best as a student and a scholarship recipient to obtain a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, so that someday all of you are going to be proud of selecting me as I continue to exceed my limits.

Soon enough, with the guidance of our Almighty God, I will take part and support this foundation in order to help and inspire the younger generations to build a better future.

Once again, thank you very much and may God bless us all.

Sincerely,
Issa L. Aoalin
2019 Scholar - Romie Ramo

The first Victoria C. Wacek Memorial NFP scholarship was awarded to Romie Ramo. Romie stood out with his impressive commitment to leveraging higher education to better assist his family (parents and 2 brothers). Romie’s academic dedication paid off not only as recipient of the scholarship but as valedictorian of his graduating St. Matthew’s class in March 2019. Romie now has 1 year remaining in his Civil Engineering program at Misamis University. With increasingly difficult coursework and the limitations of remote learning, Romie finds his studies challenging but, nevertheless, he has persevered. Romie continues to express his gratitude toward the donors of the Victoria C. Wacek Memorial NFP for helping him to pursue his dreams, and we are confident that he will achieve great success.

A message from Romie - June 2019:
